This is pretty solid and interesting. Chapters fluctuate wildly from being interesting to being boring. As my first foray into Mary Roach books, I'd read another!

Fun voice with intriguing information, I just read the parts relevant to my research. Would return as a starting point if I needed to research other cadaverous topics this book covers.

I listened to the first chapter and there were some key inaccuracies in the information presented that casted so much doubt on the authors research abilities and intentions, I couldn’t trust it.

Excellent read for anyone who has an interest in the weird sciences, morbid curiosity or just a dark sense of humor. Roach's witty writing style will have you cringing in disgust one sentence and then laughing out loud at the next, all while learning numerous fun facts about the dead and the dying, just waiting to brought up at your next dinner party.

Incredibly solemn yet surprisingly hilarious. I don’t read a lot of nonfiction, but Roach did a wonderful job of balancing the sad and gory with reflection and fun. I’m glad I already don’t eat meat, because there’s no way I would after the many many comparisons between cadavers and lunch.

I enjoyed this, but some chapters were light on human cadavers and heavy on experiments on animals and
