This review encompasses my thoughts and feelings on the entire Trilogy.

This series is unique and so very special to me as I loved all the 3 books back to back because I couldn't put it down and not know what happened next.

The characters were the highlight of this story for me as well as the world building. All 3 main characters i.e. Clay, Lizanne and Hilemore were some of the best characters that I've ever read about. By the third book I had formed a deep connection to each of them. Now that I've finished the trilogy I just don't know what to read next as these characters are still on my mind and I want to know more about their future and the new age to come in this world. Another huge plus point of this series is the side

Worldbuilding was the second best thing in this trilogy as it is rich in lost histories, forgotten lore, Dragons, Rules based Magic System and such a vast and rich world that is filled with unique creatures, culture, beliefs, etc. The Dragons are used in this story in a unique and creative way. I've never read a book where the Dragons are the antagonist and to be honest I didn't know if I'll like it as I've always liked Dragons as being the protectors of our protagonist but I'm happy to report that this new experience was awesome.

The plot was well thought out and executed very well. The author maintained in keeping up the suspense and I felt a sense of impending doom as I continued on with the journey that our brave characters take to save the world.

The writing style is excellent and the dialogues are written so wonderfully and it suited the personality of each of our main characters.

Overall a great experience but I have a little complaint regarding the ending of this trilogy. It did seem abrupt to me. All the tension and suspense kept building up from Book 1 and when the final confrontation happened it ended too quickly and too blandly in my opinion. Moreover after the end of the world I would have loved to see more about the new age that this war ushered in and how our main characters cope with these changes. Hope someday we get a sequel series or a prequel series because there is still so much to explore in this world.

I'm having a hard time with the start of the books in this trilogy. It takes me a good 300 pages before it really catches me. But when it does, it's truly epic.

I absolutely loved the first book, but something about this one just left me struggling to even finish it. I guess there was a lot of wheel spinning from some arcs that kinda bored me. I am not sure if I will go on to book 3 even though I bought it.

Really a 4.5/5 but Goodreads doesn't have half stars.
Another great entry! The Legion of Flame is the second entry in the Draconis Memoria series and it's continued to get better.

I'm having a better time keeping track of the names and characters - the knowledge of a Dramatis Personae at the back making things easier - which has enhanced my enjoyment of the book.

That being said, it's been a...curious thing seeing the plot of this trilogy development. I'm unsure at the present moment how I feel about the almost sci-fi aspects of the story (centred in Clay's POV). It's using the Ancient Civilization Having More Advanced Tech Than Ours trope, which I don't have an issue with, but it seems a bit...I'm not sure exactly. I'm excited to read the next (and final) book in the series.

"They might feel they've scored a great victory, but all they've won is the right to stand against the White's onslaught, and it is coming. Make sure they know that."

The second book in the Draconis Memoria trilogy improves upon its predecessor in almost every way. We had familiar POV characters that allowed for a quick and seamless immersion into the story but this is not to say that there were no surprises among our guides into the story. There is the addition of an unexpected POV character that offered some intriguing glimpses into facets of the story that would otherwise be unavailable.

The intrigue and adventure was well balanced so no complaints there. The overall pacing was also done quite well and I never felt that the story lagged anywhere. There was some additional world-building with regards to history that, for my tastes, fell a bit flat. I found myself more than a little disappointed at the uninspired explanations that were presented...and the new, non-POV character that offered these explanations feels out of place to me.

All in all, however, this was an enjoyable read that succeeded in improving on the foundation laid down in the first book and in teasing the ever-escalating confrontation that is promised in the final installment.
