I'm not sure paranormal romance is my preferred genre. I remember liking Ghost House by Alexandra Adornetto, which I believe is paranormal romance with a ghost love interest instead of a wolf-shifter love interest.

So, this book was not my thing. Be it the wolf-shifter love interest, or just having aged out of this style of book and love interest, this is not a book I intend on picking back up.

However, Maggie Stiefvater did write The Raven Cycle impeccably. It is a lovely series, so I do know her writing isn't an entire turn off.

This review is totally biased. I read this book in middle school and I absolutely fell in love, so it's my comfort series. Is it objectively bad? Maybe, but it holds a place in my heart, just like Twilight. There was nothing more I wanted to do than avoid my problems and disappear into the golden wood like Grace. I mean... who wouldn't want a hot werewolf boyfriend to show up at your door? I love the imagery and prose, to be honest. I love the way the wolves communicate through mind pictures, and I thought their shape shifting being triggered by the heat was unique.
