This was a typical small-town romance—and a boring one at that.

This is a cute and quick read. Was it ground breaking? No. did it hit all the tropes? Yes. Did I have fits of unbridled excitement and sheer moments of anger?... also yes. Overall though if you are looking for a warm and cozy read, this really is the perfect book. It really cements the term- Cozy r0mance. I needed a blankie, and a cozy coco to accompany this read. It was effortless, sweet and gave all the good feels. I'd recommend as a filler read, but can see how you can swept up into the universe and want to read them all. I started the book at like 8am ish- and finished around 3pm, so I do feel that speaks volumes to the quality and ease.

Pros:
You just cannot beat a hot farmer
Jeanie grew on me so quickly. I started off like "why is she like this" and ended with... "I know that's right girl"
Honestly the writing is so just so fluid and easy. Picked it up and had to finish it same day.
Blinded by cuteness

Cons:
The Spice was an after thought. The term spice when referring to this book is a loose word for (but I do read a lot of spice so maybe I'm just in my smut era.)
The third act break was predictable
I wanted to slap the hell out of a few characters a few times

This book was a rough read, but I refuse to DNF a book. The main character Jeanie was absolutely obnoxious and one of the most annoying characters in a book I’ve ever read. The book gives you this idea that it’s going to be Luke and Lorelei from Gilmore Girls, which it had some parts that have the vibe, but overall was just way too annoying.

⭐️ 1 star because it made me want pumpkin spice treats and because it was fall themed

⭐️ And 1 more star only because it’s my own fault I went into it expecting more out of a cringe-worthy hallmark style book

All of the characters (except Jeanie, I actually kinda liked her believe it or not) either had zero personality or were annoying af. The MMC needed therapy so bad and truly was the absolute worst and unlikeable to the core. Don’t even get me started.

Now back to my TJ Klune book as I rushed through that ❤️

this was a cute, fall rom com read with major gilmore girls vibes but it had the potential to be so much better!

to make it better: the love interest wasn’t quite grumpy enough. give me real luke from gilmore girls. he was grumpy grumpy. that vibe was perfect and could’ve fit better. and the insta love doesn’t do it for me. let their relationship build a bit more before and then have “third-act breakup” which also could’ve been better and different (i hate the miscommunication trope).

if those 2 things were written differently, this book could’ve had a higher rating. still a cute book!
