bought and read this book to break my reading slump. i was excited to reasd this book because i love me some grumpy x sunshine trope, but i didn't see that trope in this book. it's really just a sexy farmer with abandonment issues and is afraid to be the talk of the town. the first parts were full of redundancy - it's quite annoying. i personally found the story fast-paced in the sense that the characters have already fallen in love in less than a month, and lustful at that. there's nothing romantic about this story. i'm so glad that it's over. this was a luke and lorelai, gilmore girls inspired novel, but i honestly think that it failed to deliver.
This book was not for me at the time of reading. I may go back and give it another. Try at a later date but for now it is a DNF

This was a cute, small-town, insta-love romance. It also had a mystery that needed to be solved. What I liked about the book was that the friendships forged in the town seemed to be life long and that no one ended up being backstabbing or mean. What I didn’t like about the book is that there really wasn’t much to Logan and Jeanie’s relationship other than physical attraction.
Logan and Jeanie also had way too many issues individually for them to have a successful relationship. I honestly feel like they are going to break up (again) once the book is over. The miscommunication trope strike again with this one too. Logan just needed to tell Jeanie what was going on in his head and they wouldn’t have been as miserable for the week.
And the Aunt Dot/Norman story line doesn’t make sense. I wouldn’t have forgiven him that easily.

This book gave me all the fall, cozy, small town, Gilmore Girls vibes! While I loved all of these vibes and the coziness of this book, the romance kind of fell flat for me. I didn’t really feel the chemistry between Jeanie and Logan. I love an instant attraction/instant love, but that didn’t really connect with me in this book.
I really liked Jeanie and her bubbly personality. She was a ray of sunshine and made me giggle at times. She really balanced out Logan with his grumpiness. But Logan isn’t my favorite MMC. I can understand that he had his heart broken and was scared to make the same mistake again, but I feel like he would benefit from some therapy. He definitely needed to work through his issues and realize that Jeanie isn’t Lucy and that she didn’t deserve to be treated like she would do what Lucy did. The way he acted bothered me. But he eventually comes around and makes things better.
Overall, I like the vibes of the book and the small town romance feels. I’ll probably continue with the series when I have the time.
