I hate to say it but I don’t think we needed this book. It was good and I liked the attention Collins gave to the government’s manipulation of media, but overall I don’t think it added anything new. It also felt like a sitcom where an applause track starts when you see a character or actor you recognize in that it began to feel stale. I liked it in a “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” sort of way, but I wish we got to see Haymitch as a more unique character without comparing and sharing character arcs and traits with both Katniss and Snow. I liked the comparisons but at times it felt too much.

I already knew much of it from the other books, and I read the translation to Portuguese: worst translation in my life. In general, it wasn’t nearly as good as the others. 2 stars because I love the universe.
