I do just love her prose, and admire the confidence with which she writes in this, her first novel. A fascinating look at being a young woman in 1960s Toronto.

Marian MacAlpin- Works for a Market Research firm, this is where she meets Duncan , a struggling student with not much going for him.
When Marian starts cheating on her fiancé Peter with Duncan, she suddenly finds herself having an increasing aversion to food.

This was an interesting book, you see the moment Marian started changing, losing herself in this new role of "fiancé" seeing herself being swallowed up by Peter.

This is definitely a book that I had to take my time with.
While it got me thinking, it was not my favourite Atwood book.

This is Atwood's first novel, and here, her interest in feminist ideas emerge. This is a slow burn of a book and very much a product of its time, but fun to see how Atwood evolved as a writer.
