I listened to the audiobook and Mara Wilson was absolutely phenomenal as a narrator.

The book itself was solid--for me it slowed down in the middle but when things clicked together in the last third, that was great

Really loved the way this turned into a thriller from the horror of a sleepy seaside town with too much history involved. Would make an excellent beach read, especially if you’re staying in a haunted light house

This was a really tense, creepy ghost story that is also about motherhood and family and love. The ending is extremely bittersweet, but so powerful.
Of course, Regina being forcibly taken by Marina wasn't going to solve the problem - Marina needed a mother to know her and willingly choose to stay.
I really liked this one.

Meh. Probably should have DNF’d. Don’t go into this expecting it to be exciting or scary.
