Started this series bcas I needed something different from ACOTAR and they’re merging it like some kind of marvel multiverse… shouldve been 500 words lesser and I’m done with this series goodbye

i am not okay. First of all I called the ending bc i’m a jenius. this book further proves her world building mastery. she is playing a long game with her books and it is beginning to pay off BEAUTIFULLY. I cannot wait until the next book and what it all brings. I thought my theories about amren being an angel/some kind of powerful vanir were crazy insane but maybe they were not that far off. Now I have a theory she may be the seventh asteri but that remains to be seen. All I ask of you sjm is a big infinity war style face off with Bryce Aelin and Feyre leading the charge. You gave us Lorcan Lochan give us this PLEASE. Also please show all of our faves technology it’ll be absolutely hilarious. There’s a lot of ways for this to go wrong but she’s proven with tog that she’s able to wrap up huge worlds and and endless amount of storylines beautifully. I will be formulating theories for the next several weeks like a crazy person. it is 2am I have school tomorrow and I am on the floor completely reeling from this ending. Idk how i’m gonna wait two years for the next one.

These books are Dune-level dense and at times can feel incredibly info dumpy with the amount of new characters, plot lines and lore being introduced at almost every chapter. It’s another SJM book which means you’ll get amazing FMCs who can kick ass, tons of smut and there’s cute found family moments!

I don’t think this was a good book at all.
My issues:
Bryce was annoying and the most unlikeable SJM protagonist ever. And that’s saying something when Feyre exists.
She’s terrible at world building. Leaving things purposely vague to confuse the reader and then info dumping is not the way to do it.
The sex scenes. I complained continuously of how awful they were in ACOMAF, but somehow these are worse?
Why is everything described as “female” and “male”. Hearing those words really take me out of the story.
Every single character POV is straight, cis and white coded. On top of that, they are all the same person. This makes it even worse. I’d love some diversity.
The pacing. This was a bridge book and everything but the last 100 pages could’ve been thrown out.
The writing. The grammar, repetition and word choices were terrible. I don’t fully blame this entirely on her, since lack of editing is more of a macro issue with publishing.
This read like Wattpad fan fiction and not in a fun way.
What I liked:
The last 100 pages and the ending was a good cliff hanger that got me intrigued for the next book.
Upon reread, I still don’t think this was great but I’ll give it a 3 to 3.5 stars. There was more intentional groundwork then I gave it for and the ending is 5 stars but it should’ve been a lot shorter.
