Thank you Net Galley for the eARC!
One of my most anticipated books this year & it did not disappoint! I loved this so much, it was even better than the first one. I don’t read much YA anymore, but I thoroughly enjoying everything that Erin Craig has written. I can’t wait to see if there will be more from this universe.

Terrifying, full of twists and turns and an honest horror contender. I truly hope there is a sequel, for Verity's' sake.

Thank you to Random House Children's, Delacorte Press and NetGalley for an eARC of House of Roots and Ruin! One of the most incredible books I have read this year. Absolutely unputdownable- I read in one sitting! House of Roots and Ruin is full of romance, mystery, suspense, and danger. From the beginning to the end, there's a sense of dread and excitement that keeps you on your toes at every turn of the page. House of Roots and Ruin is all I can think about and I can't wait to share my excitement with more readers! Add to your TBR's and add to cart!!

A solid sequel to the first book. I think I enjoyed the more spooky atmosphere of the first one. I wanted more spook with this but still a good read!

Y’ALL, my face when I read the final line of the last chapter… My eyes were bugged out and my mouth was hanging open. Oooooooh I gotta know what happens after this!!
Even though this didn’t have the same PERFECT mix/ratio of horror and atmosphere that book one did for me, it still had those elements and I really enjoyed it! The descriptions of everything were beautiful, and I loved the shift in setting from the gloomy salty sea to the blooming floral mansion and culture of the People of the Petals.
I myself have read very few fantasy novels with a young protagonist that is in a wheelchair (the only example I can actually think of is Rysn from Stormlight Archive), so that was cool! I liked Verity and Alex’s cute relationship, and the uncertainty that went on around that situation was very intriguing. And once again, I love that the pantheon in this world is real and influences the characters and plot.
Lots of weird things are going on, and the end was just a doozy, with all of the cards finally being revealed, lots of violence and death, and the VERY END… Aaaaah. What’s happening?!
I could have done with more ghosty things with Verity, and I think maybe this was a bit too long. But I jive with Craig’s writing style and the way she incorporates horror!

Again, loved it but the romance was horrible. Also, what is with the need to have so many twins and triplets?
