We have Henry and Irene, Irene runs a newspaper that publishes an advice column, Henry is the son of one the women she gave advice to and he is definitely upset about it.
Irene is a suffragist and a very strong woman, Henry is old school and seems like he has a stick up his butt about most things, they argue a lot, until he kisses her to make a point, then they argue while being naughty.
He does do a respectable grovel at the end as well.
I didn't like this story as much as book 2 and 3, but I'm glad I learned the origin of things.

This is my first book by Guhrke. I want to thank HarperCollins for allowing me to read it early. It was a lot of fun.

Since I have always said that romances are like dessert for me, I am going to start rating my romance reading based on ice cream sundaes.

This was a good sundae with lots of hot fudge and whipped cream. No special ice cream flavor, but definitely not vanilla.

I enjoyed the first 75% but then her lecturing tone got tiresome.... especially since she is a tawdry gossip columnist.  I can't say I agreed with her opinions when she was ignoring his responsibilities as the duke. She wants 'choice' but when he makes choices she bullies him to make the choice she wants him to make.... Man, this started out soooo good but it just landed flat.

Wonderful book. I enjoyed it very much. I swept away with the romance of it all.

I can't wait for more in this series! Irene is the editor of a scandal sheet in London in the 1890s. She writes a "Dear Lady Truelove" column in which she advises her readers to follow their hearts in love. One of her readers is a duchess, and when the duchess takes Lady Truelove's advice to marry her artist lover, the duchess's son, the Duke of Torquil (aka Henry) has an opinion about that. His opinion brings him to the editorial offices where Irene works. And they bicker and quarrel and then... I love it when the love interests bicker and quarrel. I love that Irene is a career woman and loves her job. Again, I can't wait for the next in the series!

the heroine felt too current day feminism and i know a lot of new hr seem to be like that but it felt a bit more in your face that it took me out of the story. the hero however was opposite and when he changes his views eventually it felt fake and rushed. also this book went from hate-lust-love so fast it was douse. anyway did not like
