It really is Christie’s best mystery.

I know this book is considered one of Christie's best, but hot take: while very good, it's not really. A large part of the problem is that there is just so much exposition. So much. And it's about an event that while based on a real life case, is not anything the reader has direct knowledge of.

I'm all about a locked room mystery and the characters are generally interesting, but it's a book whose fame rests on a stunt: MAJOR spoilers:

they all did it.

I have read this in print, but this time I listened to the audio book David Suchet narrates and I really loved that delivery.

I enjoyed this audio version of the book with Kenneth Branagh as the narrator. He does an excellent job and is easy on the ears. The difficult part is keeping track of so many characters, which makes it impossible to figure out who did the crime. It is fun to try and figure out though, and the final reveal is inventive. I recommend this to those who enjoy a murder mystery, don't mind a slew of characters to keep track of, and don't expect to solve the mystery themselves.
