This book is so bad that instead of dnfing I hate-read it to be an educated hater. First read of 2025, maybe my last because I need to bleach my eyes.
Why do they like Mia? I just don’t understand, there is no tension, we’re just told the guys are obsessed with her and that’s it. She’s the best but literally has almost to none personality. She’s a doctor and a good person because she does charity. She’s blonde. She’s horny. She cries. And that’s it.
The only reason I gave this book 1,5⭐️ is because of River and Alex’s relationship and the smut. Those two did have a little bit of chemistry and tension, I mean, two best friends, one of them is bisexual and the other one is ‘straight’, I love that trope. They have done threesomes before, but never crossed swords, but now feelings are involved and the lines are getting blurry. I feel like they’re more vulnerable with each other than with Mia, they flirt and steal glances at each other, they joke, THEY BLUSH!!! I think Alex and River’s relationship is based on friendship and love, but theirs with Mia is based on lust.
I think that in some of the sex scenes Mia is not needed, sometimes I even forget she’s even there. Clearly this book is just smut, the plot is superfluous, is just an excuse to write porn, which is fine and it was good, but it shouldn’t have been this long. I skimmed a lot of Mia’s rambling. The characters are flat and the friend group is annoying af. I think this book would’ve been better if it was just River and Alex, and by better I mean this could’ve been a bad book instead of a piece of shit.
Maybe I should’ve dnf this book when the nickname ‘kitten’ appeared, I read that and kept reading, so I can only blame myself for this painful experience.
I don’t have the strength to comment the ice bucket challenge rip-off.
