Loved the diversity in this. And Banana? Immediate fav.
Not quite sure how to rate this one. I wasn’t a fan of the beginning, but at about halfway through the tone COMPLETELY changed and sucked me in. The end left off on an intriguing note, but some of the more subdued tone was back and I wasn’t liking it quite so much anymore.
I’m interested in reading the next volume, but I’d probably wait until it went on sale or I could get it from my library (or hope Owlcrate included the second volume in a future box). I think this was a promising story, but it didn’t completely suck me in. And overall, I’m not sure if it does anything completely new? It seemed like a quilted-together mix of familiar fantasy stories or themes. (I think I even spotted a hobbit door with a tree nestled on top of the hill.) Not a bad thing, but in the end, I think that mixed with my ambivalence kinda disappointed me.
I just wished I was more attached to the story - it just might be not my taste though. For those who like fantasy that’s a little heavier with tragedy and has a few moments of humor, this is a good one. And I am interested to see where it goes. I just hope the second volume pulls at my interest and heart strings a little more.

the story is sometimes kinda clumsy and it's not my thing, i don't think, but i'm giving it five stars because this author/artist is off the charts! i can't believe she drew these BEAUTIFUL panels all by herself while in college, and wrote this, too. she did everything and i can't commend her enough for a wonderful job and i'm so very sure she has a bright future in front of her!! plus this is one of the only comics i've read where it's clearly meant to be a comic, and the author uses their format as an advantage, so props as well!
