I can't tell if this was too long or too short for me. I think I would have rather had more daily life scenes establishing world building about the society or even how magic-Samson hair works and why there wasn't more hair-centric fashion or protective garb. As it stood, the setting felt more like a scaffold for drama instead of a fleshed out world and I soon found myself growing bored with the plight of the characters.

i'm writing this months after i read the book. i remember having a hard time getting into it. i was confused about the plot.
i'm currently reading the 2nd book– let's see if i like that one more/if i understand the series' premise.
nothing is impossible in the realm of fiction.

3,8 stars. This was actually very fun to read. I loved the art too! Can’t wait to read more about it!
The art work in this was stunning - probably the best I’ve ever seen in a graphic novel. Lots of bright, vibrant colors which I really like. The story itself was pretty good, this is obviously going to be a series, but I enjoyed it well enough. The concept of power coming from hair length was interesting.
