This was a fascinating story about witchcraft, persecution, and coming of age. Nyneve is haunted by the death of her father by the Witch Guard and knows that she will most likely have the same fate. She does everything she can to hide her long hair, which is tied to the strength of the person's magic, but it doesn’t work out. She finds herself on the run and trying to figure out her future. I really liked Nyneve and this unique world. I can’t wait to see what happens next int his story.

Graphic Novel by a Melbourne artist. I really liked it, cool magic, government conspiracies, rebel children, magic schools, plus amazing artwork.

This was beautiful! I loved the artwork in this. The story was also interesting. In most stories I’ve read that include magic, the magic has to be hidden. In this one, magic is encouraged to an extent. I thought it was a fun take on a story of magic users.

4.5 stars - I really loved this and only wished it didn’t cut off so abruptly! Hoping we get a next book soon. This felt like a little introduction to a new and very unique world that I definitely need more of.

The plot of this book was so intriguing. The world building was so rich and detailed I almost feel it could be even better as a novel. The art was really unique and beautiful. I had a hard time connecting with the characters though that could just be because I have a hard time connecting with characters in graphic novels in general. Overall, it was a fun read.
