My only complaint was sometimes it felt like the story glossed over a few things or didn't explain them well enough. I really enjoyed it though and I'm excited for the next one!

I’m not a huge graphic novel person. While I did think the world was intriguing and the art was wonderful, I did want a little more excitement or plot movement. I get that this is the first in a series but I wanted more action and less world building.

I got this in an Owlcrate and i am pleasantly surprised at how much i liked it. The art-style is very pretty and the story is interesting. It reads very fast and i like where the story is taking me.

The reason im not 100% involved is, because i have a feeing that im growing a bit out of this YA/Middle grate type of thing. It’s not quite YA yet, it leans more towards Middle grate and i have a feeling im becoming to old for that. Still it’s very entertaining!

Looking forward to continuing this series!

The world building in this graphic novel was very intriguing. To have a magic system using hair length as a judge of power was definitely something I had never come across before. As I progressed through the novel, I was definitely feeling some subtle Hunger Games vibes with the building of rebellion against a possible corrupt leadership, the initial challenges to become part of the leadership and the general building of the characters and the world.

I didn't love this graphic novel but I did enjoy it and I would be interested to see where is goes from here as it is a very cool and different type of magic story.

Adorable art, a diverse cast, and an interesting story? I'm sold. I loved every character in this so much, and highly recommend it! Definitely can't wait until the next installment comes out!

tw: parental death, transphobia (its highly challenged though), suicidal ideation

The art style is gorgeous. As a first book it is a strong start, but it also feels a little cloudy in the route is taking. I'd be happy to continue it though. Im excited to see the outcome.
