On one hand, this is quite enjoyable, with an interesting premise and a world I'd like to learn more about. But on the other we are told so little about anything, barely anything is explained, why was her father's hair deemed too long thus dangerous when plenty of other characters have equally long or longer hair but are still alive and in some cases considered great and respectable? Why does cutting her hair immediately notify the authorities and deem her a traitor when other characters have clearly cut their hair for fringes?
The art style is so simplistic that the panels that show them using their magic are very hard to follow and you can't really understand what's happening.

MY FAVORITE WEBCOMIC: PUBLISHED! Dreams really do come true!
This comic is so delightful to me, from its unique universe to its loveable characters--not to mention that it's not at all White(tm), Straight(c) or cis(tm) if you'll excuse my pointing out the obvious. If that sort of thing discourages you from reading, fear not for the plot itself and the world is so intriguing you won't even have to think about why "pandering" to gay POC would bother you!
At the apex of the first arc's plot twist, when reading the comic online I felt a full body shake each time I pressed the 'next page' button. Being able to experience those pages and that art that so moved me as a physical page-turn was really special. I hope the continuation of the comic (FREE TO READ at witchycomic.com !!!) will be published as well, as I want to throw as much of my money behind Ariel Ries' continued career in comics as I can. Selfishly, of course, for my own intense enjoyment of their art.

Well-written and gorgeously, expressively drawn. I was immediately fascinated by the setting and its politics (hair magic! talking birds!! subterfuge!!!), and I'm so glad that the webcomic is ongoing so that I'll get to enjoy the further adventures of Nyneve & Co.
