This book is great. I'm only giving a 3.5 based on how useful it was to me. I knew about many of these topics already and for some that I wanted more depth in (such as being trans and having radical self-love but not having gone through transition yet), I wasn't in the right place. I also read the audiobook of this so I didn't have time to reflect on the questions and I already feel that the book will not stick with me. But, Sonya narrates it and does a great job! Especially for those not familiar with these topics, this is a great book!

I'm not really a self help person, but this book feels like so much more than a simple self help text. the focus on how bodies are impacted by oppressive systems and the practical steps for cultivating radical self love made this feel more real, practical, and applicable to everyday life. it made me challenge some things about myself and how I view how I move through the world - and how I have a lot I need to unpack to truly love myself and others. it absolutely shines through that Taylor is a poet and a whiz with metaphors - the book is always entertaining and never dry! an excellent book to start off 2021 with.
