It reminded me a lot of the yellow wallpaper. I think men are often trash especially in societies where women have little rights, less opportunities and are taken less seriously, I'm glad she drowned the bastard.

Would have liked to see this as part of a small collection of short stories perhaps? I really like Miller's works but £7 for a tiny book like this feels quite disingenuous - of course there are other ways to obtain it, for example I borrowed this from a friend. If people want to read something extended in the same genre, I'd highly recommend A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes
