I am a huge Bruce fan. This Bruce book does not disappoint. It's funny and so fun to read. I absolutely love all the details Higgins includes in his books. I could read these again and again.

I think our house is becoming fans of Bruce. There is lots of hidden humor in the illustration of Bruce’s emotions and the cartoon bubble dialogue beyond the plot of the story. Short picture book but a fun message about grumps.

Bruce's home becomes the location for all the neighborhood animals to wait out a big scary storm, no matter what Bruce wants. Another funny Bruce book that is a joy to read. This one has a little more action to it than some of the other titles, and the book is quite compelling and humorous.

For: bear fans; readers wanting a silly book.

Possible red flags: depictions of frustration and anger; scary storms.

A little bit of a twist, would be fun to have students make predictions. Sometimes we all have a Bruce mood l like this.

I love the books by Mr. Higgins, they are fun to read to students and students love to hear them and read them. And they also like to read them on their own. Perfect for beginners and those learning English as a second language.
