A Rule Against Murder

I feel like the writing in this book improved immensely from the previous books in the series. She’s really finding her authorial groove. My only complaint is that the sub plot about the overall police force/corruption was totally absent in this one. I hope she picks it up again. Otherwise, this was my favorite Gamache novel so far.

This was the furthest I've been from the murderer yet. I liked the deviation from three pines. It was making me sad for the town

The one that takes place at a hotel with some surprising guests.

My jaw literally dropped at the end. So good. Wonderful writing as always that makes you care about the characters and want to know what the answers to the questions are.

Good book.

I am still hooked on this series and these wonderful characters. It was a nice change of pace to have the story occurring outside of Three Pines and Inspector Gamache being able to take some time for himself. I really enjoyed learning more about his family history! I also enjoyed learning more about Peter and his background! He still does not deserve Clara!! I really love listening to these as audio books as to me the narrator adds so much to the storyline. On to #5 :)
