A Rule Against Murder

As always, I struggled with all the new characters, but I did finally get everyone down. Recurring characters were a delight, as always. It was nice to get away from Three Pines for this book - absence makes the heart grow fonder. Overall a very cozy read.

This series gets better and better.

I hear the Louise Penny community does not like this book as much as the rest because it is not set in Three Pines, but I really enjoyed it. I found the setting charming, and Peter and Clara's involvement tied the story to Three Pines. The back story on Peter was really interesting, too. I've always wondered about him (as Penny intends, I think).

My favorite of this series so far. Still a bit far fetched (but what murder mystery isn’t?), but a lot of beauty and wisdom as well.

I won this book in a goodreads giveaway. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the other Inspector Gamache story I read because it centered around this dysfunctional family who were horrible to each other. It made it difficult to read when you hope they'd all just wind up killing each other.

Kept me guessing

This one kept me guessing "whodunnit" until the end...which I loved! I enjoy getting to know the characters with each passing book.

I enjoy Louise Penny books and this one was great. It was easy to get into, the characters are always fun, and I enjoyed the mystery. Clever killing method. Gorgeous setting. One of the better ones of hers that I've read.

Lots of thoughts but particularly remarkable in a pretty old-school, Christian-influenced mystery to have positive non-binary representation! (It does not start great but the characters grow)
