I liked it. Although I was looking for more details. First I thought It's going to be full of smuts but the amount was ok I guess and not too much. Being honest, I was a little disappointed before the thanksgiving scene but it turns out ok after the plot twist (not that much shocking anyway).
Really looking forward to read the whole series and hope it gets better.

The beginning was super slow and the middle of the book could’ve been shortened. The last quarter we could all see what was happened and the epilogue’s cliff hanger was good. Could’ve been more concise but I enjoyed it overall.

2,5 stars for me. Even though I finished it in a week it’s because it was an easy read. I didnt really like Alex. The spicy scenes were okay. Don’t know if I’m gonna read the next ones….
dark mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

3.5 ⭐️! i enjoyed the book for what it was and i’m excited to continue the series, the only reason it’s not a 5 star read for me is because i feel like i wasn’t drawn to the characters emotionally? like i liked their relationship dynamic and the whole “touch her and die” aspect but i don’t feel like the book will stick with me. it might have been because i listened to the audiobook and didn’t care for how the female narrated the book but maybe in the future we’ll do a reread.

I thought this series was so good?
I feel betrayed

I'm officially in love with Ava Chen and Alex Volkov

Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

Frankly a horrifying and cringe read. I find it truly frightening that many young people will read this and think this is what ‘love’ and ‘protection’ is about. Borderline abuse and extremely misogynistic. The characters also felt cringe and embarrassing so like, the awful themes weren’t even like worth it in the ‘guilty pleasure’ sense.. a terrible book and would not recommend.
