Though I didn’t expect to like the book as much I did, given that I’ve read a few other series with a very similar premise (“Pages and Co.”, by Anna James, and “Story Thieves”, by James Riley, to name two), i surprised myself by enjoying this book very much, and i even plan on reading the sequel soon! (I also now realize that “Inkheart”, is one of the blueprints for the stories i’ve mentioned above lol)poirot's review against another edition

This was my first reread of inkheart in years and the nostalgia is real. The inkheart series was one of the first bigger books I read as a child and rereading it reminded me of my love for this series and how much it influenced my love for reading and writing. If this would have been my first read, I might have only given it four stars but since it owns such a special place in my heart I needed to give it five stars.
Graphic: Confinement, Kidnapping, Fatphobia, Fire/Fire injury, and Body shaming
Moderate: Misogyny
Minor: Emotional abuse, Animal cruelty, and Physical abuse
