In short, it's a fantasy book about a father and a daughter - Mo and Meggie. Mo is able to read characters out of books, but in return, someone from the real world is place din their storm. Mo and Meggie go on an adventure, one that has been trying to catch up with Mo for years, in an attempt to right Mo's long-lost wrongs. Great story for a young person wanting to get into a fantasy book.
Minor: Toxic friendship, Bullying, Blood, Injury/Injury detail, Kidnapping, Emotional abuse, Animal cruelty, Animal death, Violence, Torture, and Stalking
I would suggest the reader be at least 10/11 years old if reading this book. Some of the themes are a bit dark.laffi's review against another edition

Elenor was undoubtedly the MVP.
Still, I don’t see myself continuing with the rest of the series.

Though I didn’t expect to like the book as much I did, given that I’ve read a few other series with a very similar premise (“Pages and Co.”, by Anna James, and “Story Thieves”, by James Riley, to name two), i surprised myself by enjoying this book very much, and i even plan on reading the sequel soon! (I also now realize that “Inkheart”, is one of the blueprints for the stories i’ve mentioned above lol)chloereadds's review against another edition
