This was a reread of a book that I absolutely loved in my adolescence. It was my favorite book and book series throughout all of middle school and into the beginning of high school. This re-read made me remember why! 

This story is a love letter to people who love book and love to read. Cornilia Funke's love of books is infused into every single bit of Inkheart - from the epigraphs before each chapter to the book and character references to to the reverence that the characters themselves hold for books and stories in general. 

This is a fun fantasy story for all ages; it was easy to understand when I was in middle school and it held my attention as an adult. I'll definitely be continuing with the rest of the series.
