In this 6th volume we’re introduced to new characters (we finally meet the other Kings and they’re as terrifying as they look like!), new conflicts and everything was settle down for the new arc.

Since Silver Crow was infected with the Chrome Disaster armor, all the kings agree to have a meeting, to discuss what is going to happen with him: they can erase him from the game, or find a solution to ‘vaccinate’ him.

Uiui Shinomiya, a 9 y/o girl, also known as Ardor Maiden in the Accel World, comes into the picture. She used to be an important member of the Nega Nebulus, but 2 years ago, when the Black King beheaded the Red King, the legion fell apart, and she was among them. Not because she wanted to leave, but because, there are some other creatures that are guarding a temple.

These creatures, or so called gods, can be defeated (they’re like a final boss inside a game). But, the old elite team of Nega Nebulus made a mistake and now her body was trapped in a loop where every time her avatar woke up, she died immediately.

So, Shinomiya also meets Haru in the real world, and the new Nega Nebulus plans another mission to rescue her –she’s an important piece of the team, and that’s because her unusual avatar has the ability to cleanse Haru’s avatar. But, as you can imagine, even if they only know each other for a couple of days, their new friendship is something people should not take lightly.

I really liked this volume, ‘cause like I said, all the pieces are fitting together to build a more complicated system. I like the way my favorite characters are growing and how they’re learning how to become stronger, but also how to deal with their scars in real life. That’s the beauty of it.

The Accel Word is a game that uses your fears as a weapon against others, so it’s accurate to say that the more you fear, the more you are hurt, the more you’re powerful. But the big question remains: what will happen when someone gets to level 10?

I can’t wait to keep on reading the next volume!
