this was my first time reading this type of story in graphic novel form and i found it very interesting. wake is as much about Hall's personal journey as it is about the history she explores. i could feel Hall's frustration about the progress of her research and the constant dead-ends so strongly.

wow... if i had to share one thing from this book it's that ONE in TEN (!!) enslaver ships had revolts happen on them, and the more enslaved women were on a ship, the more likely a revolt was. Hall's use of historical imagination is so needed, i'm grateful for it.
An amazing look into women lead slave revolts throughout history. I was a little wordy at times for a Graphic Novel but great book with great information.
