I picked this book as a summer read! I fell in love with the characters and the story extremely bummed that there is no epilogue, kind of felt like I got cheated out of a good ending.

Upon reread this is a 3.5 instead of a 4

If you had to write your biography in five sentences, what would it look like?

Sarah Dessen once again spins a fantastic coming of age tale with The Rest of the Story. Even as an adult, I found myself to relating to almost all of the characters at one point or another in the story. I love when the setting of a story becomes as powerful as a character, as the lake did in this book. At times funny and at others sad, this book is an excellent read for both young adults and "real" adults. It gets bonus points just for being on Lauren Graham's book list.

Came in expecting a summer lake romance but got more of a family focused story. It was a nice surprise! A lovely comfort read. :)

4 stars because there were a few things I wish could've happened that didn't but I still had a really good time. <3

Was there anything I needed more in April of 2019 than a new Sarah Dessen book? No! The ultimate in comfort reads! I love all her books so much and this one is so good. I love the lakeside setting. I love the family! This book is delightful and made me so happy. If you are a Dessen fan you will love this one.

I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher via Eidelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

I love this book so much!!! Everyone needs to read it. Great summer read. 5+ ⭐️’s

A nice slice of life story that provides a chance to examine social dynamics, as well as the fierceness in maintaining an independent personality.
