I'm not gonna lie, I forgot I signed up for this arc review but I screamed when I got the email.

This book was so cute, funny, and overall an amazing read. I gobbled it up in one day.

Indie's life story had me in shambles.

Indie and Seb have a bit of a complicated past - a beautiful summer spent together - gone in an instant. As hard as they tried to forget each other, unfortunately they couldn't do it. Sure, they somewhat moved on but at the end of the day they could never forget the summer they spent together. Fast forward some time and they happen to end up at the same college.

Coincidence? I think not!

At this point, Indie has built up her emotional walls and has one goal and one goal only while in college. Focus on her music. However, leave it to Seb to be like "nah, we're breaking down her walls" I've never been a math girly - thinking about it sometimes gives me migraines - but oh my goodness, i have never been more thankful for statistics in my life.

Indie is a prickly, grumpy FMC. She’s strong, independent, a badass, and one who is driven to accomplish things in her life. Seb is compassionate, empathetic, and stubborn. It's always great to have two MCs who are stubborn as hell. The constant back and forth fuels me.

Read if you enjoy:
- Second chances
- Sportsball romance
- College romance
- She’s a violinist!! Yay for orchestra!!!
- Found family

Thank you to Love Notes PR for sending me an ARC copy for my honest review!

ARC Review

I really like this book and the characters too. Seb is the perfect golden sunshine boy I have ever met. His character was so well built that I fell in love with him. Although he is a Goldie but his lil bit of grovelling *chef kisses* I mean there will be no one that cannot like Seb. Indie as a black cat was absolutely badass but yes sometimes it was too overwhelming. & that's why i thought somewhere or other I felt disconnected with the character of Indie but hey no worries right.
These two characters are extremely opposite to each other. It has a perfect mix of spice and sweet romance. I even loved how this was a college sport romance but there was not much of a drama and that was kinda off for me. Anyways, all the side notes and characters are also good.

I found the book to be just fine as a casual read. However, I must say that I didn't quite connect with the characters or the overall plot. Particularly, I felt the development of the relationship between the two main characters was somewhat lacking.

I just want to start by thanking the lovely Meghan Hollie for letting me read her book before the rest of the world gets their hand on it!

I loved getting to live in the world of Indie and Seb while I read this book! I am sitting here trying to figure out how to review this book without giving away to much detail but I loved every second of this book and loved watching him fight for her even when she thought she wasn't worth fighting for. I loved seeing his family slowly become hers and the love that she eventually let herself feel.

I related a lot to Indie, as I struggle to let people in so seeing that representation in a book was so important to me.

100% recommend you read this book when it comes out!

This was a cute college sports, reverse grumpxsunshine book. The characters were super cute together. I especially loved Seb. He was a a sweet golden retriever type of character and he was so immediately gone for Indie.

I think the flashbacks were done well. The way we got to see scenes of them from the past helped add more depth and understanding to their history so it didn’t seem too insta lovey.

My biggest thing was that once they finally got together there wasn’t much of them actual being a couple. Seb was sos sweet so there were so many things the author could have done to make them have cute couple moments. Instead it was just a crap ton of smut. Which is whatever but on top of it I found the smut to be pretty cringe at times.

Overall it was a cute read that was fast and has an adorable mmc.

*Thank you LoveNotes PR and the author for the eARC*

i devoured this book! wonderful characters, an amazing storyline and the cover is so incredibly cute!

indie her character is so relatable and i loved reading her progress. i adored how supportive and protective seb was over indie and i absolutely loved how their second chance storyline turned out. i loved the black cat x golden retriever aesthetic and i truly believe this book couldn’t be written any better.
the book is paced realistically and the storyline is original and truly one of a kind.

I am going to give this a solid 3.5 stars (slightly rounded up). I liked the overall story and haven't been able to quite put my finger on what made it not a full 4. There was good character development in some aspects but then I felt like less so in other areas. Things were moving slow and then fast. Overall though solid intro book to a new series.

Indie is finally where she wants to be. She is on a scholarship at the school where she has worked so hard to be. She has her walls up and intact. She does not plan on making friends let alone having a relationship that is until she is reminded of what could have been. She runs into the ONE guy she thought she would never see again. Sebastian. Seb. The guy who made her feel like a queen only to ghost her and never reach out. Well she got the message loud and clear, but what are the chances that they are now in the same school. And that she is roommates with his sister Quinn. What are the chances what he is conveying to her and how he wants to talk about what happen could mean that that summer meant as much to him as it did to her? What are the chances she ends up with his family for Thanksgiving and her walls start to come down? And what are the chances that he is now her tutor for math to help her pass and keep her scholarship? She is so worried that he will leave her when he is done with her because that's what everyone she cares about does. Will he be able to prove her wrong?

Sebastian has never stopped thinking about that summer where he made a huge mistake. He knew he hurt her, but he was too scared to do it in person. He didn't want to not reach out to her but with a broken phone and a behind cloud backup he had no way to contact her. And now her she is. And not only that she is his sisters roommate and now he is her tutor. Sure her walls are up but he can see it in her eyes that what they is still very real for her. Just like it is for him. So of course he goes along with her rules and boundaries. He will do anything to keep her around. He just has to prove to her that he isn't going anywhere and that what they feel for each other is very real.

I liked the character growth in this one. Indie has been through so much, but she still finds ways to push herself and continue to grow. She finds herself with a cheerleader BF and her boyfriend is the star quarterback. She finds herself opening up about her past more and more in a way that doesn't make her sad as much as it helps remind her where she came from. I liked how Seb wasn't giving up. I liked the reverse grumpy x sunshine. There need to be more of these! Seb had the best way of getting her to smile or snarl at him and he loved both. I also liked the supporting characters and am excited to read Quinn and Miles story!

Thank you to Love Notes PR and Meghan for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

i’m so in love with this book it’s not even funny. it’s so good i’m not ashamed to admit i stayed up late to finish it which may or may not have meant i skipped the physics lecture i had in the morning.

disclaimer: i’m aware this review isn’t probably the most perfect and organised one and is probably incredibly chaotic but i genuinely loved this book sm it’s altered my brain chemistry. like i don’t even know where to begin because EVERYTHING was equally PERFECT. the writing? the storyline? the smut (hehe)? check. check. check.

normally when i’m writing a review, the first thing that comes to mind is what i didn’t fully like/love (idk but it’s always the first thing that i think of for some reason), but for this book ?!?!? my mind is BLANKING all i can think about are the good, scratch that, ideally amazingly incredible things. the characters, the plot, the story, THE NO THIRD ACT BREAK-UP?!?! *chef kiss*

i was genuinely so invested in this book when i reached the ending i kept clicking the right side of my kindle because i outright refused to believe it was over. i need sm more of seb & indie, i’m addicted to them they’re so cute and their banter ajsjaidkwo >>>> i’m so obsessed with this book i’m low-key reconsidering my college experience bc so far it’s nothing like this. where’s a hot quarterback mentor when you need one? ugh. en fin. i have nothing more to say - i mean i do, but it’s just going to be me rambling about how good it is so instead go read it so you can see for yourself 🤗
