Really enjoyed this! I used to read a lot of paranormal and then I fell out of it. I loved the Coincidence of callie and kayden so I was excited to find this one. It was different and interesting from the very beginning. The descriptions are so vivid, I could almost feel the prickles and electricity. Alex was hotness, though the hot and cold was a little frustrating because it took a while to understand the exact history and all. My only real issue was the way some of the story unfolded, like characters just explaining and asking and answering...sometimes for whatever reason that just pulled me out like I was losing momentum. Overall super liked it! Can't wait to read the next one! Can always count on the author to give you an emotional, well developed and original story!
What's up with me and e-books lately? I super enjoyed this, much better than Prince of Wolves. I'm debating about reading the second one though....

This book reminded me A LOT of the Fallen series by Lauren Kate. I liked this book, but found myself skipping over places to figure out what the heck was going on. Once I figured out enough pieces I was able to go back and enjoy the ride. Will most likely re-read before #2 comes out to pick up more details.

lets talk about shattered promises. first things first lets talk about Alex. Dear god! what the heck is wrong with that man? he's hot and cold and an idiot. like come on. he has like no personality. he's super predictable. every move every word i can see coming from a mile away.
those heated scenes, lets just say i thought there was too many, to close together and to predictable and bland.
i felt that this book could have been written so much better. and Gemma, well she was stupid, predictable and should have been born blonde. (not that i have anything against blondes. my best friend is blonde.) but seriously, could she have been any less annoying. it was either Alex, save the world or die the whole book for her. i mean come on!!! theres just a lot about this book that i can't get over but those were the main ones. the setting and plot though was entertaining at least, and it was fast paced. but the characters were shallow, stupid and no really character growth. All in all the book was predictable the charcters bland the action scenes boring and really slow paced. the only good characters were Layden, ans Aislin. i don't really know what to say except what the hell was the author thinking? And why make two versions of this book anyway?

Can I give this negative stars?? Worst rewrite of a semi decent series I've read in a while. You just had to go and "spice it up?" Stick with PG YA. This book was lacking, the characters didn't have that spark that they did in the original story. I for once can I say I won't be reading the 2nd book and I usually love series.
I both love and hate this book. Nothing is clear, and like Gemma the reader is completely lost. The ending is also completely infuriating! Yet I have to admit, I couldn't stop reading. I got caught up in the story and felt like I just HAD to find out what happens. Sadly, I was terribly disappointed as the book ends in the middle of the "epilogue".

Eek what? I can't remember ANYTHING from Fallen Star, only that I loved it very much.
But I'm really not enjoying this at all!
The first page(s) were so good,
"Why do people laugh? What makes them cry? Smile? What allows them to love?
...
What makes people feel?"
"I've never been able to feel any emotion. Sadness, happiness, love; they are all just words to me. They have no more meaning or importance that the shoes on my feet."
This drew me in, immediately - again I assume.
But then I read further, and I got so annoyed by how Gemma acts around Alex, it drove me crazy!
I think I might pick this up later since I loved Fallen Star, but right now I really don't want to xc

I've read the fallen star series but I liked this one much better. Maybe it's the passion, maybe it's the ability of Gemma and Alex to actually consummate their feelings and emotions, I can't actually pin point the reason. I am confused though. In the fallen star series Gemma and Laylen didn't have a sexual chemistry. But I guess I could be confused because I did read them a long time ago.
