So, so sad. Beautifully written - I now want to read her other books. But so sad.

Ho preferito smettere.

I really really really wanted to like this book after reading what the author went through but I just had a really hard time getting into it. The second half of the book was readable but the first half followed too many stories and for me didn't really give me enough on any character to become attached to their tale. The particular version I read included an appendix of letters written by the author and her husband that were gripping but that could be read without committing to what I consider a slow, painful read.
