A hairstylist and a detective are drawn together after their spouses cheat (with each other). Miranda is strong, sensitive while Tucker is pretty swoony - intense, sweet, protective and he *cooks*. It didn't take them too long to to get over the betrayal ("marriage is dead"), though there's a process of them dealing with the fallout. Their romance builds by starting off as an odd sort friendship.
I felt things progressed a bit too quickly, but the chemistry is strong enough, just that it'll benefit from a little more depth. Tucker is confident in his feelings, which is great, and he makes effort to bond with Miranda's son. There's *a lot* of ex drama, which I could really do without. But our MCs handle things well, and there's little miscommunication angst. This is billed as a RS, but suspense is kinda just on the periphery, and it's a bit shallow. And the editing could be better.

She’s the center of gravity for me, the thing that keeps me tethered to earth and reminds me every single day that although this world is fucked up, there is still so much beauty to experience while you’re here.
This didn't have the best writing, but it was such a quick cozy romantic mystery (albeit not the most elaborate) read, it felt like watching a movie in a way.. I really enjoyed it!

Tucker and Mirander meet under rather strained circumstances as their partners were having an affair. How on earth Tucker's wife cheated on him I'll never know. He's the type of man I would only dream of finding. Caring, protective and loving. Mirander deserved better than her husband Bowie too. And as the story progressed I became more and more invested in their story.
