I was surprised by this one. It was such a charming story of two people falling in love.

Now this was miraculous! Like a hug in audio form.

Not only is Aciman able to mold such beautiful language to create consistently vivid backdrops, he truly focuses on character development, emotion and ensuring they feel as real as possible. This was especially true for this book, where he turns the mundane into something extraordinary.

Two people in their late fifties, named Catherine and Paul, meet at the courthouse while serving in jury duty. They are both married and believe that they nothing in their life will change for a long time. That is, of course, until they strike up a conversation and realise they may not be quite ready to give up adventure just yet. In the course of a week - each day during their lunch break - Catherine and Paul begin to hope for a better future, for, and perhaps with, one another.

I adore this, and how real it felt, the messages within it and the journeys both characters are on. It is definitely a
must read!
