In a stunning turn of events, I think I like this book better than the first? The first had really great wordbuilding, but I LOVED the return to the eye of the Scion. I love the syndie and all its rough and tumble characters- the Wicked Lady, the White Binder, the Rag and Bone Man, I love these people’s names! And I found this book truly unpredictable, which was so fun. consider me GRIPPED for the last few chapters.

-0.25 stars for the following: the inappropriate relationship between Warden and Paige, him calling her “little dreamer” on top of that AND the number of times his eyes “burned”

honestly I should take off more for those crimes…

Coś mi mówi, że moja przygoda z Shannon na tej serii się nie skończy - po prostu wow... Kocham wszystkie intrygi, które miały miejsce w tej książce, to jak wszystkie wątki na koniec łączyły się w sensowną całość (zakończenie zmiotło mnie z planszy - serio, nie spodziewałam się tego ale po przemyśleniu kilka wątków faktycznie na to wskazywało). Paige jest tak bardzo slay omg - uwielbiam to, że owszem, jest powerful, ale nie jest wykreowana na bohaterkę niezniszczalną - w trakcie czytania obserwujemy jej progres i to, że nie sama moc czyni ją silną bohaterką, ale jej doświadczenie i czas poświęcony rozwijaniu swojej mocy. Poza tym ten subtelny wątek między Paige i Arcturusem... jestem zakochana!
