Undoubtedly, this book is better than the first one imo. The thing i would complain of is that the characters seem kinda flat and lifeless. the story’s main focus was the plot and descriptive details so the we barely get to see the characters personality shine through

No voy a entrar en detalles de la trama para no hacer spoilers de la primera parte, pero os cuento que continúa dónde se queda el primero; un momento con mucha tensión.
En este libro cambiamos las intrigas palaciegas por un viaje lleno de peligros, siendo la historia más frenética y acelerada. La vida de Ning vuelve a dar un vuelco y se ve obligada a enfrentarse a nuevas circunstancias, conociendo mejor su magia y el mundo de los dioses que la rodea.
Una cosa que me ha gustado mucho de esta segunda parte es que contamos con un nuevo punto de vista dentro de la narración; ya no es solo Ning quién nos cuenta lo que pasa, sino que otro personaje importante nos aporta su visión, lo que nos permite conocer mejor el conflicto principal.
Debo decir que la primera parte me enganchó más que ésta, dentro de que también me ha encantado, claro. Normalmente me pasaría al revés, porque esta parte tiene más acción, pero personalmente me atraparon más las intrigas palaciegas y las pruebas mágicas.
Además de los personajes que ya conocíamos, aparecen otros nuevos con una gran importancia, que actúan como detonante para que Ning aprenda más sobre sus habilidades, y ésto es algo que he disfrutado mucho, me sigue gustando mucho el sistema de magia basado en el té, y aquí se desarrolla más aún y se comprende más.
El final de la bilogía me ha parecido muy correcto y lo he disfrutado, aunque me hubiera gustado ver más desarrollada la relación romántica, la verdad. Me parece que cierra muy en el aire, pero sin dejar cabos sueltos.
En resumen, una segunda parte con más acción, nuevos puntos de vista y personajes que se unen al camino de la protagonista. Un cierre de bilogía muy correcto, pero que me deja con la sensación de que falta algo.

I have mixed feelings on this duology.
I really really liked the first book as it was full of magic while the second book mostly focus on following up with the setup? the pace was slow.. idk why and the ending was a tad meh.
also, the drastic changes in POV? felt so weird and out of place.

This was even better than the first part of the duology, getting the story from the different perspectives gave it an added depth. This was an epic adventure and I loved the quest element especially. Great characters and a wonderful story.
The writer has created the most fascinating magical system, and I would love to see more books written in this universe.

I don't remember much from this book despite reading it about a month ago, but it was a nice, comfortable read. I think I'm outgrowing this genre in general so it doesn't feel fair to knock stars off for that.
It took me a bit to get into the story itself. Part of the problem is that I couldn't remember what happened in the previous book besides a tea competition and then everything going downhill...could not remember the specifics for the life of me (but that was on me). For this book, I disliked the POV changes - whenever I (finally) would get invested in the story and where the character was, it would switch to the other POV the next chapter. And then the wind would get knocked out of my sails and I didn't want to read further.
A good read? Yes. Forgettable? Unfortunately also yes.
Maybe I'll try re-reading both books back to back in the future.
