I absolutely love this!
D.L.Mackenzie manages to tell an engaging story while using the sufficiently complex language giving the story a proper Victorian Steampunk air, it is extremely funny and informative as well, as he talks about the history and science and things like that in the notes after the story.
It reads like Jules Verne, Sherlock Holmes, or some other Victorian magazine adventure serial. :-)
