This is probably the worst of all of them. The only reason i am reading them all is because i bought the whole series. Ok so, Clary is acting the absolutely worst in this book. Totally just playing the ultimate child having a tantrum every 5 minutes. She is the queen of not staying out of the situation they tell her to stay out of and then fucking the whole plan up. I was cheering for the bad guy, Sebastian, at one point because he said what we all wanted to hear and called Jace out for his BS and Clary out for being a total dumb bitch. I’m giving it 2 more stars than it deserves because i love the Alec and Magnus relationship. It’s adorable and i want more of THAT to be honest. So my biggest issue was the ending. The fact the author did the absolutely expected and brought Jace back to life was eh. In my opinion you should be brave enough to kill off a character and let them stay dead. But if she was going to bring him back through an all powerful Angel’s wish- if she had just wished for the innocent people killed by Valentine’s actions, then Madeleine, maybe Hodge? & most importantly, Max, PLUS Jace could’ve all come back too! Like my whole thing is, if Clary wasn’t so dicknotized by her brother not brother whatever, she could have ACTUALLY done something smart and good. But nope, big daddy Jace is the only thing on her mind. It just was really annoying and there were so many things that could’ve made it a decent book. Like for starters having likable characters.

As the book dragged a bit in the beginning i feel it is not a full 5 stars I'm meaning a 4.5 out of 5 as it is now one of my favorite books. I can see how this could have been a conclusion to a trilogy but in so glad she contiyes on with the story as it feels like we're just getting started. I'm ready for the next and the continuation of build and depth she adds to her books, world, and characters Cassandra Clare honestly has it all.

Thank goodness
they aren’t related, phew!
. This one was more fast paced with lots of action and it wrapped everything up nicely but still left one plot thread for more books. I really liked the description of the angels and getting all my lingering questions answered.

The City of Glass is the perfect ending to the OG Mortal Instruments trilogy. The resolution is perfect and Clary and Jace’s relationship is probably the brightest point of the book.

Clare is SO good at creating believable characters that you care for and love. I also love how you can feel the intention and foreshadowing in the plot. To me, that is always the sign of a great author.

The highlights were the Wayland Manor (obvs), the end (with the angel and Valentine and Jace and Clary), and the epilogue. While these were my favorite scenes, the character arcs, well-planned plot and beautiful writing really took this book over the edge for me. Huzzah!
