A Vow of Embers by Sariah Wilson

The story resumes exactly where we left off at the end of the first book. We then follow along the marriage and relationship between Lia and Xander. Wilson tells her story in a very fast paced manner and keeps the reader interested.

My biggest complaint, and the reason I can't give this 4⭐ is the "miscommunication." The immaturity in the FMC & MMC, and their inability to have a conversation with one another drove me NUTS. I feel like there could have been so much more exploration and development of the characters had they only had a conversation.

Beyond the miscommunication, I enjoyed the story. There was a lot of world building, and plot building. Some of the questions I had from book one ended up answered thankfully.

If you found yourself invested in book one, book two is absolutely worth the read!!!

Lot of repetition between the main characters hot and cold dynamic. (miscommunication trope) But still a fun read!

I knew I shouldn't start this series before the last book came out. I am totally hooked and can’t wait for the third book.

Ugh, I thoroughly enjoyed A Tribute of Fire, but this book left me incredibly frustrated. The two main characters are so infuriating that it was quite exhausting to read. Despite this, I managed to finish the book and will definitely pick up the last one. However, I’m torn between my excitement to read it and my frustration with the characters. The ending was surprising, but I genuinely hope that the main characters will finally get their act together in the next book because…this wasn’t it.
