This was really solid! I thoroughly enjoyed the world, romance, and cast, especially the two leads-- Sona in particular was such a charming, intriguing character. There were a couple parts that dragged a bit and didn't make sense to me, but that's a minor thing and probably a me problem. Overall, "Gearbreakers" was simultaneously really fun, and had a lot of heart built into its characters and themes. 4.25 stars.
Fun story but really could have been edited a lot better. Not much sense of scale, and occasionally things would happen and my reaction would be "no. Bullshit. That did not happen."

I wanted to love this but it just didn`t work.
So many constantly angry teens with a death wish and one teen with total apathy and no real care about what happens with her.
Why should i care if one of the protagonists doesn`t even care.
The friendships in the rebel group was confusing me with their harschness to eachother and constant fighting not just one pair but somehow all of them.

I really loved the way that the characters interacted with one another!! the supporting cast felt like real people outside of their relationships with the main characters which I really enjoyed!!
I really appreciated that the romance between Eris and Sona took so long to develop, and I thought that made it feel a lot more real!
I loved the concept of the story as well, and I'm really looking forward to finishing the second book!! 🤩
