This was a great book for kids about yellow fever. It's a great example of science and the process of experiments, as well as the challenge of human subjects. I highly recommend it.

Another awesome example of historical research. This book would be excellent tied in with Fever, 1793- by Laurie Halse Anderson.
This book details how the Army team of doctors tested their hypotheses to find the vector and eventually the cause of Yellow Fever. Due credit is given to the Cuban doctor, Carlos Finlay, who had long believed that mosquitos were the problem. Dr. Walter Reed is also acknowledged as an ethical frontrunner who believed that patients should give informed consent for all experimentation and medical procedures.
