a child weaned in poison considers harm a comfort!!!! lately i’ve been leaning toward kindness!!!! brutal, obscene, and grotesque. so fucked up but so good. abuse is cyclical, parents shape their children, etc.

Sharp objects by @thegillianflynn
I've read gone girl , and this was on my list for a long time . I had high hopes for this book , because I really loved and was in awe with gone girl , but , this didn't live up to my expectations. But it's a very good book for a debut novel. I liked the plot twist. And I loved the writing! It may be predictable for some readers but it's worth reading one time if you're fan of Gillian flynn's work.
If you haven't read gone girl and waiting to read it , don't read that first!! Read this one first and then read gone girl ..
It's a decent suspense thriller novel.

First few chapters I’d this I found quite slow but still a little creepy I’m a massive wus so I had to read a light hearted book along side this for when it creeped me out too much so embarrassing I’m literally 21 but the way I walk home from work is around the edge of a forest so I feel like I had a right to be a wus. Any way after the first maybe 7 chapters I was hooked!!! Got about 60% of the way through and I KNEW it was the mum, I can’t believe it was amma! Using the teeth for the doll house is so grim but very nice touch. Anyway no good at giving reviews but this book was

yeah this was sick (and not in the cool way)! so so so descriptive that my brain neeeded to turn off after some paragraphs. also not to toot my own horn but i totally saw the plot twist.
i wish we would’ve seen more into amma’s psyche but i totally understand why we didn’t (for the thriller of it all of course)

I can't remember why I only gave this book a 4 as I read it nearly a year ago. I think the ending was quite shocking though and I still think about it.

the long chapters were off-putting, but it kept me well engaged. some descriptions were really graphic and it portrayed the inner struggles of the character. the killer’s identity came as a surprise to me as i had never expected to be him/her. it was a good read overall.

This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. I couldn't put it down. It was dark but I loved it. I love an ending I didn't see coming.
