Gorgeous photography, enjoyable writing, and clear recipes. I think the section on basic skills will be very useful. I doubt I'll try the more elaborate recipes, but I am looking forward to the simpler ones.

Beautiful book, wonderful recipes - never anything less from Dorie. Three must-tries - the seaweed sables, beggar's linguine, and the break apart cookie!

It isn't often you can say that you actually read a cookbook. But I can say it about this one. Easy to read and easy to follow, I can only wish that more cookbook authors would follow her example when writing their own books.

one the best french cookbooks for someone like me - a lazy cook! easy recipes, common ingredients, and everything inside sounds so warm and comforting. i have never bought a cookbook, but this one i will!

While my family likes to tease me that I read cookbooks like they are novels, this one just didn't stack up. I really thought it was lacking in photos. Part of the fun about cookbooks is being able to dream about what this lovely food is going to look like. I did think the stories to go along was a plus, but sometimes they just didn't seem to say much. I'm sorry to say, this is one cook book I just didn't read cover to cover.
