Given I already have two books I should add quotes, I don't think its going to happen for this one. Also, the other two were for work, this was just for fun.
loved it! Lots of twist and turns. I wanted to read this before the movie and I am glad i did.
I usually am not big on cop/lawyer focused crime books but I LOVE these!!
Cliches everywhere but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Compelling page-turnery (that's definitely a word, ok) read.
My first ever "legal thriller" shattered all expectations ... that I'd be bored to death. First, Connelly is the rare pulp writer who doesn't resort to overused cliches, whose characters are not two-D silhouettes, and whose prose doesn't grate one's patience, and second, he seems to have done his research on the situations he addresses. I learned more about criminal law from this novel than I ever have from any other exposure (mostly L&O reruns... ok, not a high bar, so what I'm saying is, for a "beginner", The Lincoln Lawyer was an edifying learning experience). Also, I was entertained without feeling compelled to yell at the author for misogynistic tendencies (ahem, Coben), amateurish writing (ahem, Ludlum), stereotyped stock characterizations (Baldacci), unbelievable plot "twists" (Silva), etc etc etc.
Not High Art by any means, but certainly at the top of its genre.

Wow, I loved that. I've never read Michael Connelly before, but I will definitely be adding him to my list from now on. I chose this book because I was intrigued by the title and cover, and I'm sure glad I was. It was very well written. The characters were great and the plot was truly original and regularly surprising. Definitely worth the read.
