Youngmi’s delivery is so funny that you feel like she’s your buddy in your living room trauma dumping. But then she also has all sorts of serious, insightful truth bombs all along the way. Relatable even though we’re not that much alike.

When I was little, my uncle used to tell me a transliteration of a Korean saying that frames this book. His version was: “if you laugh while crying you’ll grow hair on your bottom,” a prospect that, like the author, I found to be so silly that it never failed to make me laugh, even if I had just been crying. 

My uncle is dead.

An excellent perspective on generational trauma. Not preachy (which is kinda rare imo). She’s really funny as she talks about challenging topics (also rare). It’s really good! Highly recommend!
