As a Bi-racial person myself, I appreciated Mayer’s investigation of race, fitting in, not belonging to anyone, and how it doesn’t really matter in the end because we’re all just mammals. Tapping into what has always been known. There was a lot of humor and also beautiful prose. And I learned more about the Chamorro people, which I wasn’t expecting.
