I'm surprised how much I've been enjoying this series. What's been surprising to me is that I'm not particularly interested in historical fiction based around actual wars. That's what the Histor Channel is for.

As far as Will Lawrence and Temeraire, I'm very interested in the Napoleanic Wars. Novik's skill in being a diversified storyteller is amazing. This installation showed travels all over the globe. Grand escapes, loss of friends and comrades, and new ideas and friends are all in this book.

This took me a long time to read, not because it was hard to get through, but because I did not have anytime. I really enjoyed it though! I found it very entertaining and a bunch of fun. I was really nervous for this book after reading Thrones of Jade, but this is a completely different book! The pace is great and the writing is fantastic! If you want a good adventure read I highly recommend this one. For anyone wondering if they should continue the series after the 2nd book, I really encourage you to! This book is just so much fun!

Bokens bästa karaktärer tyckte jag var vilddrakarna. Jag tyckte det var intressant att läsa om deras flockdynamik och hur de levde. Annars var boken ännu en bra bok i serien, varken bättre eller sämre än de förra böckerna.

Me: well this book is good, but not as good as the last two-
Iskierka: *exists*
Me: nevermind this is my favorite book in the series.
