I'm sure it was common in the time this book was written, but I didn't like the descriptions of people, mostly the color of their skin.

Usual grumbles and praises for this author (see my other reviews from this series). I will however say that I don't think the "bad guy" in this book makes sense. A guy who Roe has almost no interactions with, and no real explanation why Paul and Sally divorced. There were one or two other people who would make more sense as the killer in the story.

Well the characters are better, I don't know if the mystery was that good this time. I really enjoy it anyway. I just didn't see the murderer being murderer. :/

An Arresting Crush
I continue to enjoy this series. The twists, turns, and various relationships keep me engaged and entertained.
Having seen the Hallmark production, there are things I like about both. There are more realistic interactions and relationships in the book, which I really like.
As for the movie, if you like cozy mysteries and Hallmark, I'd recommend checking it out. Book or movie, I'd recommend enjoying them in order.
I borrowed a library copy of the audio book. The narrator continues to be Therese Plummer. I do like her for Aurora.
Story: 4 stars
Narration: 3.5 stars

Ok, I’m taking a break from these books for a while. With all these men leaving their wives & helplessly ogling her & committing murders for her I’m afraid Aurora is going to get unbearably full of herself!

The things that happen to Aurora Teagarden. I thought she was a bit bratty in this book, but I liked the mystery.

Better than The Julius House, but I'm kind of worried about Roe and her marriage. I find it weird that she and Martin didn't really talk about the fact that she can't have children. I get it that Martin doesn't want one but Roe clearly does. I feel like that might become an issue. I found the murder mystery in this book interesting too and I didn't guess who the murderer was. At one point I thought it was Arthur because he was kinda acting like a creepy stalker.
