The romance and story was sweet but very exhausting, which made it oddly more engaging. At times it reminded me of teenage fanfictions but all in all it was a sweet romance that was very enjoyable.
Oh I liked this one a lot - it even gave me fantasies of moving to NYC haha. Very fun, lots of LOL moments, and the guy is a surprise.

Passion on Park Avenue is the first instalment in Lauren Layne’s Central Park Pact series. The heroine in this romance is Naomi Powell, who first lived on Park Avenue as the daughter of the live-in housekeeper to the Cunningham family. Now a successful entrepreneur of her own company, Naomi is given the opportunity to live in the same building as the Cunningham family and a chance to prove to the family just how well this once financially challenged girl has done for herself. She had no idea how much this family has gone through recently, however, which alters her plans. The book also introduces us to Claire and Audrey who, with Naomi, discover each other under unusual circumstances.
I found the book to be very entertaining and full of the usual banter between the male and female lead characters. I always appreciate a strong, successful heroine, and Naomi fits this part. I appreciate that there is a discussion on elder care in this book, and the toll it takes on the caregivers who provide for them. Life isn’t always full of rainbows afterall.
I look forward to reading the next two books in the series.

The premise of this story feels like it should be something that I wouldn't really enjoy. The way these three women befriends each other is wild!! I can't even imagine making friends with anyone involved in this situation but something about it just works. I do wish that we had gotten to see more of the bonding period with the ladies from the time they first meet to when the particulars of Naomi's story begins. I feel like we'll get to see more of their connection weaved throughout the series though, so that will be helpful.
Have you ever read a book and just fallen in love with all of the characters but then when forced to sit down and explain why you can't come up with anything? That's how I feel about Oliver and Naomi. I really liked their characters but there is nothing particular that stands out as to why I like them so much. Perhaps that's the reason why I did? I'm over jerky heroes and the heroines who save them. I like that both Oliver and Naomi could stand on their personalities individually and that I wasn't waiting on one to complete the other. I like that while there was conflict, there wasn't a lot of drama just for the sake of drama.
I really think that I'm going to love this series!!

I like a book with a pact that is cheesy and makes you root for love. That’s what this one does!
4.5 stars
This series may be a slight departure from her usual, but the heart and elegance of a classic Lauren Layne shines through every word of this book. The characters are exquisitely drawn, the interplay between them flawless, with all the humor and emotion she’s known for in spades.
Naomi’s come a long way from her roots, but not quite far enough that her insecurities don’t chase her once in a while. Which makes her do stupid things. Oliver is her old nemesis, but he is no longer the little boy who tormented her once. In fact, Oliver is everything, and I loved him. The sexytimes may be fade to black but the chemistry between the two is off the charts nonetheless.
The author’s unique approach to depicting a grey character who’s now suffering from a terrible fate, and how those surrounding him come to terms with it, is especially wrenching. I can’t wait to see where she takes this series next.
